Have you ever wondered what sort of treasure riddles the studio where much of Heavy Herb's music is created?
Well your wondering at least partially ends today!
In this article I'll be sharing 3 items you can find inside my studio, along with some background information on them. Life is short so let's get right into it!
Item 1 : The Sopranos - Music from the Original Series CD
I watched The Sopranos for the first time last year and one of my favourite things about it is the theme song. Around the time I was wrapping up the series I was playing with this idea that I’d switch off of listening to music on streaming and start listening to music mainly with CDs again. I like CD’s because they’re slightly higher quality than streaming and I like the little booklets they come with. Also, unlike streaming, once you buy the music it's yours forever.
This CD is one of maybe ten or so I own. I bought a discman around the same time I bought it, which is what I used to listen to it. Overall it's a really great soundtrack. It’s full of songs I would never put on but when they’re played back to back together they set a very distinct vibe. I don't own a car, but one day I want one with a CD player and I plan on making this one of my main car CDs.
Item 2: Leaf Incense Holder
Years ago my girlfriend, Azania, and I almost started an incense business. It was going to be called Cozay Incense. This incense holder is one of the products we were planning on selling. We ordered it to test out the customer experience.
We ultimately ended up not launching this business because we realized that the time we were going to spend investing into it could have been spent investing in artistic projects we were more interested in. The holder is still very beautiful and there’s nothing I love more than lighting an incense before a music making session.
Item 3: Snorlax figurine
This is one of the relics of my childhood. I have no idea how I came to possess it. I’ve just always had it. It’s one of those little toys that never got discarded with the rest. It’s probably in the top 5 for things I’ve owned for the longest amount of time.
Snorlax is one of my favourite Pokemon, so I feel a little pinch of joy in my heart whenever I see him waving at me. I like putting him right on my desk, but sometimes I’ll move him on to a speaker or an instrument to get a better view.
